  • Canadian Pro Action Cameras

Since the initial launch of Pro Action Cameras UK, we have really started to make a dent on Action Camera Market – So we thought it was about time to launch the Canadian wing of the ProAction empire.

ProActionCameras.CA is basically the same as the UK version but is in Canadian dollars, the shipping is configured to CA and we hold stock out in our Canadian office so that delivery is still sharp and quick!

All the contact details are all localised too, meaning that when someone wants to get in touch over the pond, they can speak to someone in Canada, in the same time-zone as the customer.

We’re launching the EU and the USA leg soon – watch this space!

  • World Cup 2010 Claiming Online Promotions SCAM!

This email came to me in a totally different format to most scam emails that grace my inbox. It was actually sent with formatting (different coloured text etc) ad came with a JPG attachment that had today’s date on it – and looked much more professional than most.

Its blatantly obvious its a scam – here’s some reason why.

    1. Its claiming i have won a Football orientated prize – i hate football and am in no way associated with any football sites, clubs or organisations, so there is no way they could of got my works email account to add to a draw.
    2. Its claiming ive won $2,754,000.00! – Err… In my DREAMS!
    3. The email account it has been sent from is: claimsprize_20@hotmail.com – umm… a company giving out $2.7 million as a prize aint gonna be using hotmail now, are they?
    4. The reply-to address is claimsprocessingdept01@gala.net – gala.net is some Russian bullshit portal.

It isn’t hard to identify them as scams – just look at some of the points ive covered above and you’ll always be one step ahead.

Here’s the content of the email they sent to me.

This is FIFA World Cup Claiming Online Promotions Award Notification, Do Open Attachment File For Details.

  • Christmas Eve-Eve

Well, tomorrow is Christmas Eve and i just cant believe how fast it has come round. Thankfully this year i’ve had Gemma to help me with most (well, all) of it apart from the gifts for her of course. She’s sorted everyone’s gifts out, delivered them and sent out cards etc – what would i do without her, eh?

All that is left now is to tie up loose ends at work and prepare for the office closing down over the holiday period.

We’re breaking up today, and coming back on the 4th January 2010.

It feels weird saying 2010. When it was 2009 we could say “oh nine” and when it was 2008 we could say “oh eight” but what about 2010? Do we just say “ten” ? Or do i have to call it “twenty ten?”

    Its all crazy.

Anyway – this is me signing off – ttfn, see you next year!

  • Lifes too short

Don’t worry – no one has died.

I went out last night to the town mill for a DE*10*SHUN drum and bass night – it was epic, however that’s not what this blog post is about.

I bumped into an old friend who i used to live near when i was growing up, someone  went to school with, someone i used to get on with quite well.

Over the years i have talked about this friend and the situation that caused us all to end our 20+ year friendship (here, here, here, here and here and probably elsewhere) and despite looking back on this story and regretting some of the things i blogged about (shame i didn’t listen to one of the blog comments from Stu which was written in the same frame of mind I’m in now!) i have for 3 years still felt very bitter about the whole thing.

I lost some great friends over some T-Shirts!!!!!!

Anyway, i spoke to this friend for a bit and i wanted him to know how i felt about it all, that i felt awful every time i saw him in passing and that regardless of everything i didn’t want any bad blood between us all. Thankfully he agreed!

He mentioned that there were things we could of all done (including himself) that could of made that situation different. He said that both of them (another chap was involved) felt the same – that it was all blown up out of proportion and that everyone involved had regrets about their involvement (or lack of it)

One thing he said that made me feel a bit better about it all, was that certain things have worked out for the better as a result of the whole thing, i’m not sure what has got better for him as a result of it, but i suppose me and dave have gone on to do well and maybe that wouldn’t of happened if this saga had never taken place.

We parted ways with a handshake, a smile, and (for me) a sense of closure – in parts – to this hefty burden I’ve been carrying for 3 years of my life.

I hope the other dude involved hears about this and makes some attempt to get in touch. I know things could never be the same, but just knowing that it is finally behind everyone would be a great feeling.

If you are at war with someone over something stupid, then ring them, get in touch, and make your peace.

Life’s too short for petty squabbles.
