  • Free UK Link Bio Page System – Linktree Clone

    OK, so if you’re like me you dont like to have silly usernames on stuff. Olly23o2869786 isn’t an easily rememberable username for a twitter account, for example. So when I went on a popular Bio page creator and couldn’t get anything like the username I wanted – I decided to make my own link bio service.

    Thats what you would have done too, right?

    Anyway while I was eating my breakfast I found a script, thought of a name and boom – LinkVine was born.

    I also added some domains I had laying about on there too, and bought a few more for shits and grins.

    Full domain list;

    • linkvine.uk
    • linkpile.uk
    • lnkdn.uk
    • lnkz.uk
    • freelinkdirectory.co.uk
    • afol.uk
    • cruisesites.co.uk
    • maxxd.uk
    • bizlinks.uk

    More coming soon!

    Got a spare domain you wanna keep but dont use? Let me know and add to the system! 🙂

  • Are you Happy?

    Happiness.

    Yes, its the first word in a dance song released in 2001 that still gives me goosebumps when I hear it. It’s also something that some of us spend our entire lives in the pursuit of.

    A lot of the books and podcasts I listen to talk about happiness and all of them come to the same conclusion. Happiness is something we are in full control of. It isn’t something earned or attained by going through steps or achieving “things” – its a state of mind that we choose to be in, or not.

    We are 100% responsible for our own happiness.

    Life isn’t cruel or unfair to us.

    We allow the pressures of “life” to influence our moods and feelings, which often materialises as feelings of unhappiness & sadness.

    However, accepting that “Life” and “Happiness” are things we control isn’t easy – we dont like to admit that the bad situation we are in is our fault. Sure, a kid doesn’t ask to be abused, or a wife doesn’t ask to be beaten up – but in many negative situations, the victim often has options but we cling onto things hoping that people will change.

    Instead, we put up with the situation, the relationship, whatever – and it’s usually due to one reason.

    The sunk cost fallacy.

    Basically, as humans, if we have invested a lot of time or money into “something” – then we dont want to let it go. Whether that’s moving from iPhone to Android, or getting out of a Toxic marriage – if we have dedicated £1000’s or decades to the “thing” then we feel that we have to stick with it, even if it’s making us miserable deep down. We all do it, with memberships, relationships, habits, rituals.

    Being human is hard sometimes.

    Choose happiness. Don’t carry negativity – its heavy.

  • NEW DAY CARDS SCAM – Debenhams Card – SCAMMERS

    Another day, another scam.

    This time my father was on the receiving end of it, and I actually tried to deal with this correctly via way of an official complaint. But, this was thrown back in my face so – i’ve been forced to approach this slightly differently.

    NEW DAY CARDS

    New Day Ltd

    I guarantee you will have seen – perhaps without noticing – an advert from these charlatans either on the TV or online, advertising branded debit cards/store cards… debt, basically.

    It seems their whole business model is to;

    1. Get people into contract for “stuff”
    2. Charge them a monthly fee
    3. Make it confusing what they are actually paying for
    4. Make it really hard for people to ring and find out what they are actually paying for
    5. Be aggressive in terms of chasing and enforcing monthly payments
    6. Send generic letters to people when their raise concerns or make complaints
    7. And more….

    And they seem to be doing fairly well too, based on this data on Companycheck.co.uk;

    New Day Ltd Net Worth Finances

    “Thats a lot of money you guys have scammed, New Day Cards!!”

    Let’s look at some of the brands that have been duped into working with the New Day Cards Scammers;

    New Day Cards - These Companies Partner With Scammers

    Oh dear.

    So the following brands see no issue with associating themselves with SCAMMERS;

    • Amazon Platinum Cards
    • Debenhams Cards
    • House of Fraser Cards
    • Laura Ashley Cards
    • Burton Menswear Cards
    • Dorothy Perkins Cards
    • Evans Cards
    • Miss Selfridge Cards
    • Outfit Cards
    • Topman Cards
    • Topshop Cards
    • Wallis Cards
    • Argos Cards
    • AO Cards
    • Pulse Cards

    Not a good look really is it, guys?

    They also run their own cards under a few of their own brands;

    • Aquas Cards
    • Marbles Card
    • Opus Cards
    • Fluid Cards

    All sound so nice dont they! But you will end up with a sad face and probably bad marks against your credit if you dont pay them the fee for “something” each month that enables you to “do something” – but dont bother asking what that “something” is, because they don’t know! Alright!?

    Sorry that I’m unable to be more descriptive here – but after multiple calls and attempts at speaking with New Day Cards Ltd even they were unable to tell me what the cards or the monthly payments were for – I know, astounding, right?

    I was first made aware of these crooks when I was trying to help my dad move into a new rented flat. The application brought up that he had a bad mark on his credit – huh? My dad has always been squeaky clean.

    On further investigation, it was because he had failed to make a payment in 2020 during the worldwide COVID-19 lockdown. Historically, he had made these payments each month by physically visiting the store and making the payment in person. No standing order or direct debit. And as the stores were all closed – he couldn’t go in, and ended up with a bad mark on his credit!

    When I asked my Dad what this payment was even for he said “oh its a store card or something”

    No, it’s not a store card. It’s a DEBT card, tied to a store, that apparently gives you *some* kind of benefit *somewhere*

    Anyway, we are MONTHS into this saga now, they send REPEAT letter every month claiming my dad owes them £9 or something – this is despite me speaking to people multiple times and having the account suspended at the highest level…. yet they still chase the money!

    I escalated the case and they “looked into it” and found they were in the right somehow because my dad did sign up to it and that’s that. No consideration as to whether or not he understood what he was signing up for at the time, but hey-ho.  I am ignoring all their letters and stuff now as its essentially harassment at this point.

    I wonder if anyone else has had as much fun with New Day Cards Ltd as we have?

  • Dear Costa.

    Hello, Costa.

    You dont know me, I am one of the millions of people that buy your products. Admittedly, I probably visit your stores more than most people – but this post isn’t about me, it’s about you.

    In January of 2022, your corporate overlords (CocaCola) seemingly forced all Costa stores to start using a brand of plant milks they had acquired back in 2016 – and this decision seemed to be made without actually checking the loyal customers of Costa actually liked it.

    I have absolutely nothing to back this up other than gut feeling and assumptions, but I would bet diamonds you have noticed a spike in Oat milk being chosen over any of the other plant milks?

    Do you know why I think that is?

    I have tried all the new plant milks, they are all watery and leave an awful aftertaste – all apart from the oat milk. It’s not as good as other Oat milk brands, but it’s the best of a bad bunch when it comes to Adez Plant Milks. Also, ive noticed you sell out of Oat milk quite often in many stores now – whereas none of the others seem to sell out, ever?

    There are also new ingredients used in the new plant milks from Costa – some of them are now not suitable for people with differing allergies which means many people now just dont go there anymore.

    And finally – you charge more for plant milk! Its 2022 for god’s sake, we are supposed to be moving towards a fairer and more sustainable future? So why DISCOURAGE plant milk adoption, by using awful quality products and charging more for the use of them! If anything, you should charge LESS for people opting for plant milks to ENCOURAGE their uptake?!

    To summarise; Costa, you have – in my opinion – put your bank balance and your investors before your brand and your customers, for perhaps the first time since I have dealt with your brand. Ive always felt that you have produced quality products, at medium to high prices but it’s been worth it as your products have always been so premium.

    This move to less than premium plant milks and cheek to charge more for them – in my opinion – is why myself along with many others will not buy a plant milk based drink any more. I have black coffee and when I have earnt a free one I may treat myself to an Oat latte, if you have any Oat milk available at the time….

    tl;dr Bring Back Alpro!
