My first ever brand new computer

I have been using computers for well over 10 years now, and i have always had things i have bought cheap, or i have blagged from somewhere or another. Well today, all that changed!

Presenting……..

Today i took delivery of a brand new sony vaio vgn-ar88e!

Its absolutely massive! It has a 17″ screen, and its so big i cant fit it in my bag! We have waited so long for hardware that will allow us to work at our pace and not at the computers!

Im still in the process of setting everything up, but im sure that will only take another couple of hours 🙂

I just cant get over how bloody BIG it is! 😆

Ill continue to update my blog regarding how i get on on with it – so far so good though, the screen is very bright and the keyboard is a good size etc. Some of the panels covering network ports and stuff feel a bit flimsy – but then again i don’t expect ill be using them very much.

Off to bed now – no, not with the laptop! 🙂 :/

I’ve got a 17 inch widescreen Sony Vaio too. You’re right about the quality of the network cover panel. Mine came off after a couple of months of use. It still slots back in, but if you open it then you’d be best off putting it somewhere safe, otherwise you’ll lose it.

Yours looks pretty nice. I can’t stress enough how important it is to make sure the battery is out if it’s not charging and you’re using the mains. I know you’ve had laptops before and you know all this, but my battery now lasts somewhere in the region of 5 minutes. I’m not even exaggerating. 🙁

Really?

Shit!

I do use it off the mains all the time, but i only put it in standby to take it home where i use it again.

I cant take my battery off as ill forget to put it back on when i close the lid and put it in my bag..

Dilemma!!
