  • 0lly.uk dominates google

Ive recently been drooling over a new domain name that i kinda really want to buy. Its £50 for one year which i think is a lot of money for something that could end up being another surplus domain.

The domain name is 0l.ly (with a zero)

Now if it was ol.ly i would snap it up regardless of cost as it would be perfect. But as the available one is with a zero i have my doubts. Ill mull it over and see if i can find the cash spare sometime soon.

    Anyway…

I have always wanted olly.co.uk (not with a zero) so i do some digging every now and then to see if it might of been left to expire and whatnot. After a whois check i decided to see if anyone had talked about the domain name before. And look what i was greeted with..

    0lly-olly-domination

Haha, how cool is that? I was always worried that if i told people my site was “0lly.uk” they would write it wrong and not get here – olly.co.uk doesn’t resolve a website at the mo so if they google it they will find me anyway!

    Good times!

  • FSS – Facebook Status Syndrome

So i was reading some stuff that was sent to me via twitter, and i was browsing the BBspot website when i saw an article labelled “Doctors Notice Increase in Facebook Status Syndrome”

They claim that people are starting to become obsessed with changing their status to refelct their every move. And are starting to “verbalize every move they make”

“It’s a continuation from the online world into reality, and it can be debilitating as well as quite annoying.”
Many times FSS goes unnoticed, because most victims have no social interaction outside Facebook or other online social networks.  It’s only when these people journey out in public, when it becomes noticeable”

Its kinda like that little britain sketch with George and Sandra“Putting a bit of beef on the old fork, putting the fork to my little-britian-usa__595977amouth, short pause while i chew.”

It makes me wonder though, if people are getting this bug because of facebook, then what the hell is going to happen to us twitter fans? As the whole point of twitter is to document your every move in 140 characters or less.

We’ll soon all be walking around speaking everything we do, “just opening the door, just walking through the door, just shutting the door” or even worse we’ll be strapped up with sensors and shit and literally our every move will be recorded automatically on a website. I can actually see that happening with twitter soon to be honest as i have already seen a bakers in london that has an automatic twitter updater when something comes out the oven and a guy who had his chair sense when he farted and updated his twitter status accordingly.

Who knows where it will all end up!

  • Oh Crap, My Parents Joined Facebook!

Well actually my mum has been on there a while, as has my step dad – but that’s beside the point. Check out this great website that was pointed out to me today by Rob (_boo) on twitter.

Facebook and similar social networking sites have traditionally been used by teenagers and tech-wise people all over the world since they began. Unfortunately for some, facebook is now starting to appeal to literally everyone – including many peoples parents.

Before the time when parents viewed such internet-garbage, people were able to post whatever they wanted, how drunk they were the night before, who they are going out with and basically anything that went on in their life. Now suddenly these people’s parents can view this stuff, and can post embarrassing comments on their profiles for all their “friends” to see.

It doesnt really apply to me, as my life is what it is and i dont really have any secrets from anyone. I can see it being a problem for many though – and all the hilarious situations that are occurring are being documented over on MyParentsJoinedFacebook.com

  • Meet Baby Clyde and the Jackson 5

After the untimely death of my good mate Marlon, i felt it was the right thing to replace him with some new fishes so that i wouldnt go to an empty tank at feeding times as it would just make me upset.

Clyde is a panda fish or something.. Im sure thats what they said anyway – and the Jackson 5 are zebra fish. They all live happily in our tank and are all nice and healthy!

    Welcome to the family guys!
