  • Excited for Amsterdam

In approx 32 days Gem and I will be flying to Holland, and visiting wonderful city of Amsterdam. Ive wanted to go for over 10 years, but i have either not had the cash, time or both!

Quite a few of my mates have been and have all given me tips to find the best spots, but to be honest as im going with Gemma (not on a stag do or something) i think our experience of Amsterdam will be a different one compared to that of my friends who have been in the past.

We’re gonna do the whole tourist thing, visit museams and attractions and basically do what we did in prauge and just wander about.

Our trip lasts about 4 days, so we have plenty of time to soak in the sights and see Amsterdam at its finest, we are also stopping at a really nice hotel called CitizenM which is hopefully gonna make our stop that little bit more relaxing.

Everything is booked, and we just need to clear the hotel balance once we arrive, i cant wait to spend my birthday in another country – should  be awesome 🙂

Have you done all your xmas shopping yet? 🙂

  • Hobbies and stuff

When I was a lot younger I used to play ice hockey, play roller hockey, messed about in cars, collected adidas superstars and did some other stuff that was cool and could be classed as a hobby.

Now, I do nothing but work.

I’ve decided that 2011 will be the year when I restart some of my previous hobbies and maybe start a few more.

I’m still “involved” in the car scene, so that shouldnt be too hard to get back into, just means I gotta spend some money on my car – and I’m planning on doing that anyway.

The ssdb is still going strong so all I gotta do is make sure I dedicate time to the website and start looking on ebay for some cool bargains, doesn’t sound too difficult!

Then how come I’m not still doing all these things? If they are so easy to get back into?

I guess it boils down to time management, which is something I’ve been shit with for a long time! I am getting better planning my days out at work thanks to our helpdesk system, Google calendar and my notepad – so I don’t see why that can’t cross over to my non-work activities, too!

I never set new years resolutions but this year Im breaking the habit of a lifetime as I have two, this being one of them – and I plan on sticking to them both!

    Wish me luck, gangstas! 🙂

  • Its faster than the speed of light

.. or at least it feels like how fast time is going for me right now.

It seemed like a month or so ago it was snowing, and now we are on the run up to Christmas AGAIN. Im not quite sure where my days are going at the moment.

We’ve moved into our large swanky office, it has two main office’s in it, and a store room. Its epic, but one of the rooms is very empty at the moment as we haven’t had time to find some suitable boardroom furniture.

Our new company (removed) is doing really well, the plan’s are all on budget and its amazing to see a brand new business, complete with cashflow projection fit so closely to our projections. If it was any closer to our estimated cashflow, it would fit PERFECTLY.

Work has gone through some changes, we have sacked the “media” word off the end of the company name, and renamed the company “work.com” this is to make the name reflect the wide range of services we offer, and the fact we offer them to the whole world.

In more personal news, Gem and I have booked our next trip – we are heading to Amsterdam for my birthday 😀 I’m so excited!

We booked the flights ages ago, and booked the hotel a week or so ago… and what a blinder it is!

Its called CitizenM Amsterdam City and it was actually our second choice! The one we really wanted was called the Conscious Hotel and its for tree huggers like myself, it was fully booked and despite them building another one in dam that would have been open by the time we went, we opted for one we could actually book and that actually existed!

We’ve also decided to go somewhere spectacular next year, we want sun, white sand and crystal clear water and preferably our own private beach. I hear Tobago is nice 🙂

Both Gem and I have been to quite a few places now so we wanted to push to boat out a bit next year – will keep thee posted on that one 🙂

  • Fix up, look sharp.

Well, things have really turned a corner since the last time i blogged about my life. Gem and I have managed to give our bank balance a kick up the arse, and that is a lot more positive now thanks to selling anything we didn’t need, and replacing gems car with a 1.4 TD fiesta (From £120 (max) down to £20 per week on fuel!)

Work has turned a corner too, Dave and I are now pretty much salesmen – ive spent more time sending quotes out over the last two weeks than I ever have before in my life. Its fab through because we have enquiries and quotes bouncing all over the place, and im now lining work up for weeks in the future as we are getting very busy.

The new starters are doing amazingly too, Sian is getting on well with her Admin tasks, Danny is now a social media wizard, and Ashley is becoming a SEO expert overnight! I really hope that by the time their 6 months is up we can give them all a job as they are 3 switched on young people!

My aim in life now is simply to become financially stable, so that if something happens that i need £500 for, i pay for it out my bank, then save that £500 back up again. Whereas at the mo, i’d have to wait for the £500 to be saved before i could rectify the problem.

We’re not thinking about houses, marriages, new cars, expensive holidays…. None of that! Just to become financially stable. Thats it!

We’re off to a brilliant start, though 🙂
